Carrying Water for Obama — 6 Comments

  1. Yeah, and now they’re trying to get rid of NPR. But at least we have the Internet. Al Jazeera? I always think of that as a Muslim news program. I get my real news from Real Time With Bill Maher, ha ha.

    • Al Jazeera was started in 1996 and is understandably focused on the Arabic world. Al Jazeera English started in November, 2006 and has stories from around the world, though its focus is still the Arabic world. It doesn’t hurt to see the world through eyes other than the corporate media here in this country. Go to their website – you might be surprised.

  2. I think it all boils down to a very simple thing. Campaign contributions and lobbyists. It’s legalized bribery. And who can bribe the best but the people (corporations) with the money. Until that’s fixed, it’s going to be slow-going for real change.

    • You got it. It takes a lot of money to create and disseminate effective propaganda. The corporations own the media in this country so try watching Al Jazeera instead. It’s very difficult to discover the truth but you sure won’t find it by watching CNN or MSNBC. Or Fox, for that matter.

    • If by “it” you mean the wars “we” are engaged in, it is because Americans are ignorant and are led by the rings in their noses through sophisticated propaganda created by the ruling elite, who care for nothing other than lining their pockets. The video is proof of the effectiveness of the propaganda. If by “it” you mean electing Obama, again, it is because Americans are ignorant of the truth because they have been misled by sophisticated propaganda that leads them to make the wrong decisions. Again, the video is stunning proof of the effectiveness of the ruling elite’s propaganda. “We” don’t run this country – “they” do. I’m voting third party next time – I’ll never again vote for a Republican or a Democrat. I’m wasting my vote by voting for the Republicans or Democrats, so the argument that I’m wasting my vote by voting third party is meaningless. The political system in this country is irretrievably broken and we need to build a new movement that enables us, the people, to direct the “leaders” of this country to do what we want them to do.
