Sarah Palin, Up Close and Personal
If any of you have any doubts about the real Sarah Palin, read this essay by David Talbot, on Salon.com. I am giving you the link because, according to the message at the bottom of the page on the Salon site, “Reproduction of material from any Salon pages without written permission is strictly prohibited.”
For those who would reply, “So what?”, rest assured that there are a whole lot of Americans who vigorously disagree with what Ms. Palin believes. And no, we are not “agents of the Devil.” And no, we are not going to get into a “discussion” with you, because there are no grounds for a meeting of minds on this topic. Voltaire, one of the great Enlightenment thinkers, was paraphrased by S.J. Tallentyre, writing “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” You would alter that statement to say, “I disapprove of what you say and I will kill you because of it.”
Shades of the Salem witch trials and the religious persecution that drove our ancestors from Europe to settle on these shores!
I didn’t think things could get much worse than the Bush presidency. But I was wrong. Thanks for the link. I’ll pass it on.
